A new hydrogen fuel dispenser, launched recently at the Hannover Fair in Germany, was designed by BMW Group subsidiary Designworks and Shell.
Designworks created the "Oasis" dispenser, whose simple and clean design departs from the "H" or "L" shaped dispensers presently on the market. It takes the "I" shape with all the mechanical parts made invisible, states a company release.
The team also created a highly intuitive pick up and mount mechanism for the refuelling nozzle. A screen was also integrated into the nozzle to guide the user through the refuelling processs.
“We are pleased to have collaborated with Designworks in the development of a new hydrogen dispenser that will allow us to provide customers an improved hydrogen experience. It will not only make refuelling seamless, it will also help make hydrogen fuel an even more attractive option in the future,” said Oliver Bishop, Hydrogen General Manager at Shell.
