Tesla Motors, a US-based maker of upscale electric vehicles, is planning to invest in solar backed charging stations in Japan, according to a report published May 2 by The Motley Fool publication.
According to The Motley Fool,back in September, Tesla CEO Elon Musk had said during an event in Japan that the auto maker considered Japan as "one of our most important markets in the world for Tesla" promising at the time that Model S owners would travel anywhere in Japan using the Tesla Supercharger network.
However Tesla only has six stations in Japan out of 425 worldwide.
According to an interview published in recent days in Japan, the company will soon make investments to expand the network of stations in Japan.
