Tank Removal

Island Pump & Tank can install or remove your tank

Need a tank installed or removed?

Installing tanks requires a specialty contractor. Tank contractors must have expertise in three trades - plumbing, electric, and heavy equipment operation. Furthermore, the contractor must have significant experience in each of these trades as they specifically apply to tank installation and removal.

The safety concerns and financial liabilities that arise from anything less than a perfect tank installation are too great to take a chance on the guy who offers you a low ball price. Choose an expert - someone who has been around to remove the tanks they installed over 30 years ago because the tanks have completed their life cycle.

Island Pump & Tank is one of the founding fathers of the tank industry on Long Island. We have been successfully installing tanks since 1946. We have a proven track record of installing, removing, abandoning, and upgrading the tanks that get the most rigorous use. For over 60 years we have been installing tanks for Exxon, Mobil, Hess, BP, Texaco, Shell, hospitals, municipalities, and thousands of other businesses and homeowners. We stand by our work and our work stands the test of time.

Is choosing the right contractor really that critical?

Yes. Installing a tank that will hold petroleum or hazardous chemicals presents safety risks as well as huge financial liability if the tank were to fail. A simple mistake like over-tightening or under-tightening a connection or an oversight like installing a tank on top of a small rock can cause the tank to fail. If the contents are released to the soil or groundwater it is very common for the cleanup to cost well over $100,000. The owner of the tank is financially and legally responsible.
